All sorts of fruits are grown in the special climate conditions of the Palatinate Region. Almonds, walnuts, chestnuts, figs, kiwis and lemons are allowed to ripen in a region that is ideal for growing grapes because the growers enjoy above average sunshine compared to the other regions of Germany. The Ziegler family can trace thier family's wine growing roots back to 1717, when Johann Adam Ziegler was attracted to wine growing by a pretty wine maker's daughter. His descendants, Harold and Uwe now run the winery and produce this lovely Gewurtztraminer that is sweet, aromatic and well balanced.
