Montenero Mountain Reserve Merlot

The 2000 Montenero Merlot is an outstanding blend of 85% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from two award winning vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley. This complex and rich Merlot impresses right from the first pour with its opauqe reddish-purple color. Aromas of plums and ripe berries fill the glass complemented by a nice touch of vanilla. In the mouth the raspberry, blueberry and black cherry flavors intermingle with the integrated oak seasonings resulting in well layered complexity. The finish is long, lingering and very pleasing.
