Raphet - Clos Vougeot - Grand Cru

This Grand Cru reveals a candied-like fruitiness, an attractive, medium ruby color, a supple, velvety texture, medium body, and a fruity aftertaste with light tannin. Jean Raphet, who utilizes whole-berry fermentation has made some very successful wines for the vintage. His wines, which were bottled without filtration or Sulphur dioxide, are among the more seductive, round, plump, succulent Pinots of the region. "Copious spices, cherries, and blackberries can be discerned in the aromatics and flavors of the 1998 Clos Vougeot Reserve.
