The Zaca Mesa Vineyards boundries were once the land of the native Chumash people who named the land "zaca, " which means restful or tranquil place. It was then renamed "La Zaca Mesa" when Spanish explorers settled there. It is a place where the sun, wind, earth and rain convene in harmony, which is portrayed on the Zaca Mesa Toyon's unique label. The 2001 Zaca Mesa Toyon is a blend of Estate grown Rhone varietals of 50% Cunoise, 24% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 11% Cinsault. The Toyon is a perfect match for any meat of the grill.
